In the Star Wars Legends continuity, a card in Hoth Limited, a 1996 set for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game, identified the model as the WED-1016 'Techie' Droid. The 2021 activity book Star Wars: These Are the Droids You're Looking For, although part of the new Star Wars canon, labels the droid "WED-1016".
