The Venerated Ones were the descendants of the original discoverers and colonizers of the planet Vandelhelm, the prospectors Vandel and Helm, who founded the world's Metalsmiths Guild. As such, they held huge symbolic importance to the planet's metalsmiths, who saw them as hereditary royalty and were known to stop working if they did not have the Venerated Ones' blessing. During the Galactic Civil War, the two child Venerated Ones, Lillindri Nanimei Filda Vandelhelm XXXII and Endrodanar Tiopuld Shaamador Vandelhelm XXIV, were imprisoned by the Galactic Empire in an effort to take control over Vandelhelm's metalsmithing industry. The children were held on Ord Vaug for three years before being rescued by the Alliance of Free Planets and returned home. "Lilli" was soon thereafter elected Guildmaster of the Metalsmiths Guild, forging strong ties with the Alliance's successor New Republic.
