During the Imperial Era, Uyter's capital city, Central City, was home to an Imperial Academy. It was represented in the Imperial Senate by Senator Nower Jebel, a secret member of the Rebel Alliance. Jebel would go on to serve the Alliance's successor government, the New Republic, as a senator and Minister of Finance.
Just a few months after the pivotal Battle of Endor, the Alliance to Restore the Republic invaded Uyter and liberated the Imperial Academy from the Empire.
By 34 ABY, Uyter was represented in the New Republic Senate by Nahani Gillen.
