The Uogo were a race of Humanoids which deemed themselves the "Suffering Ones." Native to the Trax sector planet, Uogo'cor, the Uogo were dominated and oppressed by pirate gangs which patrolled and harassed starships along the Trax Tube. During the reign of the Galactic Republic, the gang called the Dark Warbirds overwhelmed the populace and oppressed them until the rise of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY. In a show of force, the Imperial Navy wiped out the pirates and laid claim to the world, enslaving the population after severely reducing the planet's population through brute force.
The species suffered further devastation during the Yuuzhan Vong's invasion of the galaxy. Seeing the world undefended, the invaders laid waste to it in their early campaigns for galactic domination.
