An unidentified sentient dog was a member of the dog species who worked with Max. He noted that he and his business partner were dangerous, but cheap.

The dog in question is most likely a reference to Sam, the other half of the Sam & Max comic and video game duo. Sam and his partner appeared in a number of comics published in LucasArts' The Adventurer magazine, including a number of Star Wars parodies.
