By the time of a Nihil attack on a Hutt starship in the system in 232 BBY, the sector had only been aligned with the Galactic Republic for a few months, which the Jedi Terec speculated was the reason the Hutt ship had been traveling there despite a Republic embargo on trade with the clans.
The sector containing the Kazlin system first appeared in the 2021 comic book The High Republic 2. In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Kazlin system was located in the Suolriep sector.
