A scrapping guild was based in much of the junker systems during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the New Republic. While it was prominent in the junker systems, not all of the systems were affiliated under the guild, the Expansion Region planet Jarbanov instead hosting the Jarbanov Orbital Sorting Association. A number of weeks after the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the scrapping guild acquired two Imperial Star Destroyers and begun hiring mechanics in bulk with well-paying salleries. One mechanic, Soran Keize, brought up the opportunity to his colleague Agias Rikton on the space station Whitedrift Exchange.
