Unidentified marketplace

An eclectic marketplace was located on an astronomical object. Around 379 BBY, Marda Ro—the Evereni founder of a group of marauders who would eventually become the Nihil—visited the marketplace during her hunt for other members of her species. Simultaneously, a Jedi walked through the marketplace and was approached by Ro, who asked if he had a Padawan. After learning he did not, she assaulted him. She left the Jedi alive and took him to her ship, the Gaze Electric, in a shuttle. Back on the Gaze, she told Rox—a member of her group—that the Jedi was still alive, but would regret that she had not killed him on the celestial body the market was located on.

Later, Ro mentioned the marketplace in a message she recorded for her descendants, but chose to not reveal its location. By 252 BBY, during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to her journal, including the message where the the marketplace was mentioned.

The marketplace appeared in a flashback in the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," written by Tessa Gratton and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
