The space duck, running to warn Tana

A ducklike individual was a patron of Tana's Resort, a resort facility that was operated by the human female Tana on the world Rion, In 0 ABY, the Galactic Empire seized the Ionic Ring Ship of noted inventor Renn Volz, which housed a device that could alter the climate of a planet. The Empire wanted to turn the ship on worlds with a Rebel Alliance presence and selected Rion as their first target. The Ionic Ring devastated the once-tropical planet, turning it into an icy world and freezing the planet's food supply. Rion's inhabitants, including the duck-billed being, were driven into desperation. The Empire then demanded the arrest of all Rebels on the planet and sent down stormtroopers for enforcement.

The Rebel smuggler Han Solo arrived on Rion in his vessel, the Millennium Falcon, along with a passenger: Renn Volz's daughter, Mira Volz, who had been on the run from the Empire ever since the capture of her father. Upon the Falcon's arrival, the feathered individual and a number of other resort patrons stormed the ship, demanding food and bemoaning their plight. Solo was directed towards Tana, who was within her resort. The duckish being followed Solo and Volz into the resort and met with a number of other aliens.

However, the Empire was close behind Volz. The ducklike individual soon left the resort, and while outside overheard another local informing a squad of stormtroopers that Volz was in the resort. The billed being ran back to Tana and warned her of the stormtroopers on the way. Thanks to their alert, Tana was able to help Solo and Volz escape.

Personality and traits

The ducklike being was loyal to Tana, eager to warn her of any Imperial dangers to her guests. Unlike their fellow locals of Rion, they would not accept the betrayal of Mira Volz to the Empire in exchange for food, even though all of the beings were desperate for it. The duckish individual spoke in a language that was not Basic. Their body was covered in white feathers, aside from their black-colored eyes, yellow bill, and yellow lower legs with clawed toes.
