A commoner inhabited Anchorhead during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
After the Battle of Yavin, the commoner resided in Anchorhead on Tatooine. During their time in Anchorhead, the commoner became involved with the squill industry. In 1 ABY, the commoner employed the help of a spacer to eliminate squill in their respective lair and collect squill hide. Pretending that squill hide jackets were very popular in order to encourage the spacer, the commoner avoided to mention that squills were very dangerous creatures.

The commoner was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. The commoner was added to the game with the "Publish 1" update, released on August 3, 2003.
In the game, players could enter a dialogue with the commoner concerning the squill industry. After agreeing to help the commoner, players would be given a waypoint to the squill cave on Tatooine. However, aside from receiving the waypoint, players were not required to fulfill any specific objective. Speaking to the commoner simply allowed players to discover the location.
