Commander Luke Skywalker aboard the Falcon, in a moment of rage due to learning that Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader was his father, used the Force to take control of the entire squadron's TIE fighters, allowing General Leia Organa, also aboard the Falcon, to destroy all twelve fighters of the squadron.
The squadron first appeared in Star Wars canon in the 2020 comic issue Star Wars (2020) 1 by Charles Soule. It was identified as a squadron in Star Wars (2020) 2.
