A Jedi holocron fulfilling the function of a map existed at some point by 1000 BBY. At one point, it was carried aboard a Jedi starfighter that crash-landed on the planet Ceriun. Although the mortally-wounded Jedi pilot of the starship requested that the local farmers who found him keep the holocron safe until another Jedi could retrieve it, the artifact was ultimately taken instead by a Sith who had arrived on Ceriun in search of the device.
