Wearing these robes allowed a being to actively track thought processes faster, enhance their connection to the Force, allowing them to focus its energy, resist being stunned, and using it to leap great distances.
It was possible that the Jedi Exile acquired these robes during her travels in 3951 BBY, in the midst of the First Jedi Purge.
