The Snow Demons! was the second installment of The Kingdom of Ice, published in Pizzazz 11 in August 1978. The entire story arc was reprinted in the UK in Star Wars Weekly 57–60 in 1979.
Princess Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker prepare for the arrival of the mobile fortress that saved their lives after they crashed on Akuria II. Meanwhile R2-D2 and C-3PO head toward the wreckage of the TIE starfighter that the mobile fortress had shot down, to investigate why R2-D2 could detect no pilot aboard.
Both groups are startled by the sudden appearance of Snow Demons, who emerge from the snow in which they had been hiding, brandishing axes and clubs. Leia and Luke are rescued by the timely arrival of the War Sled, piloted by a man who claims to be Colonel Odan of the Akuria Rebel Base. They escape in the War Sled, but C-3PO and R2-D2 are missing.
