The scripts of the first two episodes were written by Jon Favreau over the holiday break in December 2017, and by early February 2018, Favreau completed the first drafts of the first four episodes. Filming took place from October 1, 2018 to February 12, 2019. George Lucas visited the set on October 19, which coincidentally was Jon Favreau's birthday.
