The Glitch was a splinter faction of the Droid Gotra, a criminal syndicate formed from disaffected droids after the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY. The Glitch split with the Droid Gotra in that same year and then ordered a droid uprising on the planet Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Empire.
The Coruscant Security Force learned of the planned uprising and discovered a shipment of sham Xrexus Cartel restraining bolts that were to be used in the event. This led Inspector Tanivos Divo to open a case on the cartel, and Divo's grandson, Exantor Divo, mentioned the Glitch as part of an entry on this case in his book, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was published in 34 ABY.
