The Curator

The Curator was a male Zabrak collector of droids and other historical relics. A recluse, only known by his alias, he amassed a large collection of rare droid parts and schematics. He was eventually contacted by the Alliance Commander and Lane Vizla in order to help repair a Basilisk war droid.

Little was known about the Zabrak or his personal life. Referring to himself only as "The Curator" he became well known across the HoloNet for his collection of droid material and wealth of knowledge on the subject. He was known by many reputable collectors, several of whom had sold to him in the past. As well as droids, he also collected ancient relics, such as a Sith sword and several Vibroswords and Vibroknives, as well as models, though mainly also of droids. He was also know for being rather reclusive, choosing to send proxies to auctions and have private courier companies deliver the items. Though he was a collector and did not like to see his droids damaged, the Curator employed antique astromech droids to act as security, though their actual ability to perform the task was questionable.

In the year 3624 BBY, the Curator purchased the photoreceptor belonging to the infamous G0-T0, known colloquially as the Eye of G0-T0. Hoping to contact him due to his knowledge of many ancient droids, and their desire to obtain schematics for a Basilisk war droid, the Mandalorian Lane Vizla and the Commander of the Eternal Alliance sought a meeting with the Curator, constructing a forgery of the Eye. However, it contained three compressor valves, one more than the original. Posing as a courier, the Commander found the Curator's compound beneath the Bastal Family Farmhouse on Kessan's Landing, Ord Mantell. Recognizing the extra compressor valve, the Curator had his astromechs attempt to restrain the Commander. However, as they were antiques, they were easily defeated with little more than pokes and slaps. Not wishing to see them destroyed, the Curator begged the Commander to stop, to which the latter asked for information on the war droids. The Curator admitted to never having seen them in person and had no records on them either, but suggested obtaining the memory core of an HK-24 series assassin droid, as they had become infamous for slaying Basilisk droids during the Mandalorian Wars, with one of the only known remaining units being in a high-security cell on Belsavis. The Curator struck a deal with the Commander, he would help them obtain the memory core using his connections, and they would leave the chassis of the droid relatively undamaged so the Curator could add it to his collection. The Commander was able to retrieve the core, and the Curator sent a trio of retrieval specialists to obtain the chassis afterwards.

The Commander eventually returned with an astromech, that had been fitted with the memory core, in tow, as it had become extremely erratic upon realising it did not have any of its original functions. The Curator was exasperated by the choice of chassis, but agreed to construct a restraining bolt for the droid. He requested they retrieve custom tools he had buried outside while he reinstall the HK memory core into its chassis in order to modify it and access it's heuristic processor, though he assured them he would not turn on the unit and that it was purely for diagnostic purposes. However, while the Commander was gone, the moment he installed the core, the reserve power supply kicked in and the HK-24 unit came to life. By the time the Commander returned, the Curator was cowering in his panic room while the HK-24 unit was attempting to breach it and kill him. The Commander managed to subdue the droid while causing minimal damage to it, and the Curator created a restraining bolt for the droid and requested they leave. He deduced they were planning on repairing a Basilisk droid, and requested they be careful, given how rare the droids were. The Curator later contacted Vizla, hoping to sponsor the repair of the Basilisk war droid.
