Tawl was a location in the galaxy. During the Forever War between the planets Eiram and E'ronoh, refugees traveled from Eiram to Tawl aboard barges. By the middle of the Imperial Era, Tawl was under the authority of the Galactic Empire. As part of a rescue mission in 9 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi disguised both himself and a young Leia Organa in local attire, giving the young girl the alibi that they were farmers who hailed from Tawl. Freck, an Imperial sympathizer on Mapuzo, considered the people in Tawl to be good people as they "paid their way and listened to the Empire."
