The fleet was the fastest in the sector with a relatively short patrol route that primarily focused on the middle of the sector so that it could quickly respond to an emergency anywhere. Its main mission was to intercept and engage pirate fleets, although its relativity low firepower meant it required the assistance of one of the other Tapani fleets to take on more powerful forces. Unlike the Ground Pounders fleet, the Swift Wing was designed to destroy rather than seize its targets.
