Surge of the Brier

Surge of the Brier was a Nightsister technique, similar to Plant Surge, that had the user reach into the spirit realm and grip the essence of a sessile plant. The technique's wielder could twist and shape the plant into a form of their choosing, and by doing so could wrap an enemy in vines, or impale them with thorns. It was similar to the Jedi Force power known as Consitor Sato.

The Nightsister's believed that the invocation of "green spirits" could also generate a "calming aura of meditation" or break down poisons that had infected the bloodstream.

Behind the scenes

Daniel Wallace, author of the Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side, compared this ability with powers of Batman villain Poison Ivy.
