A substance analyzer or sample analyzer was a type of sensor that looked for anomalies and identify poisons, toxins, and unknown compounds. Food analyzers were a specialized version of the substance analyzer. These analyzers were common in medpacs such as BioTech's FastFlesh medpac. The Corellian Engineering Corporation Survivor lifeboat was equipped with substance analyzers as part of the craft's survival equipment.
