Strategy and Tactics was a compulsory course for students at the Galactic Empire's academy on Arkanis, all of whom were candidates to become Imperial officers. In the class, the cadets were taught about various incidents in galactic military history and encouraged to learn and debate lessons of strategy from these events.
At the time of Zare Leonis's attendance at the academy, the course was taught by a Colonel Julyan. Leonis considered Julyan a restless lecturer, but the classes themselves were invigorating, as Julyan often asked questions that required serious critical thought.
