Straight staves was a winning hand of cards in the Corellian Spike version of the game sabacc. It was the second best hand in the game, being beaten only by a Full Sabacc. The criminal Han Solo revealed that his hand contained straight staves during a game of sabacc played at the Lodge on the planet Vandor in 10 BBY. Solo's opponent Lando Calrissian then revealed that he had Full Sabacc, meaning that he won the game.
The hand of straight staves was created for the 2018 Anthology film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
