Star Wars Adventures: Flight of the Falcon

Publisher's summary

The Flight of the Falcon ends here! We've followed Bazine Netal's quest for the legendary starship the Millennium Falcon, but here's one final tale yet to be told, featuring famous pirate captain, Hondo Ohnaka!

The bet

On the planet Batuu, the pirate Hondo Ohnaka was playing a game of Sabacc with Guavian Death Gang negotiator, Bala-Tik. Ohnaka was telling Tik how Bazine Netal was tricked into giving into giving him the Millennium Falcon. Tik didn't believe Ohnaka when he told him he possessed the Falcon, offending him. Mahjo Reeloo then entered and told Ohnaka to stop talking. But Ohanka refused and offered to continue explaining the Falcon if Tik paid him. After finishing his explanation, Ohnaka offered to race the Falcon against . Tik agreed to the bet and they shook hands.

Reelo believed that this was a bad idea, knowing that the Wookiee, Chewbacca would soon be arriving to pick up the Falcon. Ohnaka checked on the porg, Puffy and took off to the race. Tik arrived in his ship which worried Ohnaka on his odds of winning. After receiving the coordinates, Tik began the countdown.

The race

The two starships flew off. They went around asteroids just above Batuu, as Tik started to gain more distance from Ohnaka. But Tik pulled out of the racing lane. Ohnaka believed he got Tik into a trap but the opposite happened.

A large Baleen-class heavy freighter appeared and started to drag the Millennium Falcon towards it in its tractor beam. Ohnaka was prepared to escape the Falcon but Reelo would not let him do it because it was not their ship. Ohnaka continued to make excuses but Reelo told him that it would be impossible to escape because the escape pods were not functioning. But then the Falcon started to accelerate rapidly forward, trying to break through the tractor beam pull. Reelo discovered that Puffy had been pulling on the wires, causing the ship to abruptly accelerate.

The rescue

Reelo then took over piloting and contacted the ship trying to pull them in. The ship questioned what Reelo was doing but Reelo instead snapped back and told them that they were messing around with them. She then lied and told the other ship that they had explosives and if the Millennium Falcon exploded then they will too. Ohnaka was surprised that Reelo lied but was proud of her. The Falcon got closer to the freighter and the Weequay pirate got worried they might crash. Right before they were going to crash, the tractor beam was let go and Ohnaka celebrated. Ohnaka still wanted to get his credits from the race but they left instead.

Back on Batuu, Chewbacca was angry with Ohnaka because of what he did with the ship. Ohnaka tried to make an excuse but Chewbacca did not believe him. Ohnaka complimented Chewbacca on his care for the ship and got him to allow Ohnaka and Reelo to continue to use the ship as long as he got part of the profit. Ohnaka promised to help the Resistance when he is called and was excited to go on more adventures with the Millennium Falcon.

Continuity

Star Wars Adventures: Flight of the Falcon is set after the events of the junior novel Pirate's Price, and many of the novel's characters and events are referenced. Additionally, the issue serves as a conclusion to the Flight of the Falcon series, and it establishes the setting of the theme park Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, especially the premise of the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run ride.
