The High Republic Show was first announced during the Star Wars: The High Republic Livestream Launch Event on January 4, 2021. Krystina Arielle was named as the webseries' host. The webseries would be launched on StarWars.com and the official Star Wars YouTube channel. The first episode aired on January 27, 2021.
