The comic book was first announced in January 2022 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic Show special celebrating the first anniversary of The High Republic, albeit as a graphic novel. The comic was revealed to be a relaunch of The High Republic Adventures at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con.
