Star Wars: Grand Army of the Republic A Complete Visual Reference Guide to Clone Troopers

Star Wars: Grand Army of the Republic A Complete Visual Reference Guide to Clone Troopers was a planned cancelled visual reference guide by DK Publishing and Del Rey, written by author Mike Fessler. It focused on the clone troopers who composed the Grand Army of the Republic featured in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. Aided by Lucas Licensing, Fessler claims too that renowned Star Wars author James Luceno contributed to the project.

However, after Lucasfilm Ltd.'s buyout by The Walt Disney Company in October 2012, The Clone Wars was cancelled by Cartoon Network and the Expanded Universe was decanonized by Disney in anticipation of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, the project was officially cancelled. In spite of the EU's rebranding into Star Wars Legends, both DK Publishing and Del Rey retained their licenses for all books that fell within the new canon, starting with A New Dawn in 2014.

When asked on his Twitter about pitching back the project to Disney and Lucasfilm, Fessler replied that while he has thought about the possibility, the guide was set in the Expanded Universe and he has no interest in the new canon continuity nor contribute to it.
