The tower first appeared in an establishing shot of the 2002 prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, though it was not present in a similar shot in the subsequent film released in 2005, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The building was identified as a spaceport tower in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations.
