The Solstice Globe was one of three sacred orbs that powered a machine to keep the planet Livno III habitable. The Solstice Globe gave the planet light and allowed growth of crops. During a war on Livno III, the three orbs were stolen, and while two were returned, the Solstice Globe remained missing. It was discovered by the Lynna Zel Gris and Princess Rinetta Gan in the treasury of the royal palace of Hynestia, and returned to Livno III with the help of the gambler and smuggler Lando Calrissian and his droid associate L3-37.
