Snow monster

A snow monster species lived on the Forest Moon of Endor. Its body, several times larger than that of an Ewok, was covered in yellow-green fur, and the monster bore several large claws and teeth. In 3 ABY, after the moon's surface was turned to snow and ice by a powerful being known as the Snow King, one creature encountered the Ewoks Wicket W. Warrick, Teebo, and Latara.

Biology and appearance

A species on the Forest Moon of Endor, the snow monster stood several times taller than an Ewok, a sentient species native to the moon. Except for its head, face, and two hands and feet, the monster was mostly covered in yellow-green fur. While the monster's crown was covered in a darker green fur, its face, hands, and feet were left bare and exposed the monster's pale, tan skin. Each of its four limbs ended in three clawed digits, and its mouth contained several large teeth.

The Ewoks and Iceheads encounter the monster on Endor.

The snow monster made its home on the Forest Moon of Endor. In 3 ABY, after the moon's surface had been turned to snow and ice by a powerful being called the Snow King, the Ewoks Wicket W. Warrick, Teebo, and Latara journeyed to a palace—the home of the Snow King's brother, the Sun King—in a flying leaf sent by the Snow King's sister, the Leaf Queen. Along the way, however, they were attacked by several Iceheads, servants of the Snow King's mistress, Odra. When the Ewoks and Iceheads, aboard the flying leaf, entered a cave near the Sun Palace, they encountered a snow monster, which wailed at the Iceheads before it lunged at them. The Iceheads and the monster fell to the surface below and were momentarily buried in snow; when the Iceheads emerged, they discovered that the monster was behind them, and they retreated with the monster chasing after them.

Behind the scenes

The snow monster goes unnamed during its appearance in "The Season Scepter," the thirteenth episode of the second season of the Ewoks television series. "The Season Scepter," written by Bob Carrau and directed by Raymond Jafelice, first aired on November 1, 1986.
