Around 9 ABY, a taxi droid driving from the Galaxies Opera House to Amnesty Housing on Coruscant advised its fare, new-comer to Coruscant Doctor Penn Pershing, to visit the gardens, explaining that the Mysess blossoms there were in bloom and were a sight to behold.
In the current Star Wars canon, the Skydome Botanical Gardens were mentioned in "Chapter 19: The Convert," the third episode of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian's third season, which aired on March 15, 2023. The gardens originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in Kevin J. Anderson's 1994 novel, Jedi Search. It was then depicted for the first time in Legends on a map in Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 roleplaying supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game produced by Wizards of the Coast.
