After the Battle of Czerka 431, the Czerka Corporation technician Joni Ree defected to the Galactic Republic. The Republic sent her, along with three Republic guards, to try and extract data from a ruined Czerka lab, AB-343. However, at around the same time, the Sith Empire realized that this could expose their alliance with Czerka, so they decided to send a Sith assassin to kill Ree. The GenoHaradan also decided that it would be in their interest for the alliance to remain a secret, so they also sent an assassin.
The assassins confronted Ree and the Republic troops.
