After the destruction of the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station, many systems and planets were without power. The New Republic sent several small fleets out to check if these were technical issues or possible Imperial invasions. One of these was the the Hellion's Dare, stationed on the moon of Jiruus, which was celebrating the Empire's many defeats across the Galaxy, and was collecting data using smaller craft and probes. The Empire intercepted a transmission from one of these probes and located the destination of the Frigate. The Empire then decided to take a cruiser task force to obliterate the ship before it could spread this data.
As the Imperial fleet came out of hyperspace alarms sounded throughout the city. Riot Squadron pilots organized and launched to meet the incoming fighters. The TIE/LN starfighters, rather than engaging the incoming A wings, instead focused on the frigate and caused her shields to nearly drop. As soon as the Republic was able, they launched their fleet into hyperspace. However, the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing was able to pick off one of the A wing pilots, Riot Eight, and disable her ship. Then, they tractored her ship into the Aerie and used her flight logs to find the approximate destination of the Hellion's Dare.
The Empire was so desperate to destroy the data on the Hellion's Dare that they spent several days following her through the same method they used at Jiruus, eventually destroying her.
