In 9 ABY Penn Pershing and another member of Moff Gideon Imperial remnant, Elia Kane, at the time part of the New Republic Amnesty Program, infiltrated the shipyard to steal a mobile lab to facilitate the former's cloning research. However, Kane exposed the conspiracy to the New Republic and Pershing was arrested and sent to the Re-Integration Institute.
