Shi Shu was an Omwati who served as second to the pirate captain Eleodie Maracavanya in 5 ABY. He was present with Maracavanya before zhe boarded the captured Starfall, a Corellian CR90, and he provided details about the target; a senatorial ambassador named Tia'dor Emshwa was intending to bring a ship full of valuable items to Ithor in the hopes of convincing them to join the New Republic. Shi Shu assured the captain that the Freefall was subdued properly, unlike the one on a prior plundering mission that was almost lost to the Rangs.
After the formation of the Sovereign Latitudes of Maracavanya, Shi Shu remained part of Maracanya's crew. He interrupted the captain and Kartessa mid-conversation to summon zher to the bridge of Liberty's Misrule. Three Star Destroyers, fleeing the Battle of Jakku, had apparently mistaken the Super Star Destroyer for one still controlled by Imperial forces. Shi Shu concurred with the Ssori gunner Carklin Ryoon that they should use a ruse to capture the ships and press-gang their crew. Maracanya instead decided to destroy them to curry favor with the New Republic. Although hesitant, Shi Shu delivered Maracanya's order to the rest of the bridge crew.
