Shaara is the sister of a skiff guard. While on a trip to the Sarlacc, this guard recounts a story to Boba Fett about how his sister, Shaara, had once been chased by a group of Imperials, during which she fell into the Great Pit of Carkoon.
However, his sister survived when she was miraculously thrown out of the pit. The skiff guard is not sure why the Sarlacc threw her back, but believes it might be that the Sarlacc will only eat those that deserve it.
After more thought, the skiff guard realizes that if this it the case then everyone should be Sarlacc food.
The story is described in the "About the Authors" section of Tales from Jabba's Palace as being a small vengeance on "Certain Persons. You know who you are..."
