The Galactic Republic had guards who protected the Senate Hall on the planet Coruscant during the Great Sith War. They wore brown helmets and green robes, and were armed with force pikes.
The guards were present during the trial of Ulic Qel-Droma in 3996 BBY and escorted Qel-Droma in front of the court. When the Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun interrupted the trial, Supreme Chancellor Sidrona called the guards to seize him however, the guards were frozen by the Sith Lord as were many others present.
