Sector Plexus was first mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a canon roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018. Sector Plexus also existed in the Star Wars Legends continuity, being first mentioned in the 1989 Imperial Sourcebook, which was authored by Greg Gorden and published by West End Games. They performed a similar role of being the branch of Imperial Intelligence that handled the majority of communications.
