A section was a small unit of military forces in the Alliance Fleet during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic as well as in the Confederate Navy during the Clone Wars
The number and type of starships in Rebel sections varied due to mission requirements. It usually included three to twelve corvettes and frigates under the command of the most senior ship's captain. In the Confederacy of Independent Systems, one section contained between two and four ships.
