Scraps was a male Utai who was born on the planet Utapau. In his youth, Scraps left Utapau, wanting to explore the galaxy. He lived in six different star systems, making a living as a beast healer, and eventually found his way to Corellia. He later met the boy Malakili, who was homeless and had been abandoned by his mother on the streets. Scraps decided to take him as his own when his animal companion Nibbles took a liking to him. Scraps taught Malakili how to be a beast healer. He was eventually killed by a Trandoshan pirate who shot him dead and sold Malakili as a slave.
