The scalefish were a group of fish species native to the planet Naboo. They were thought to be mostly harmless, bar the mee, which possessed poisonous spines, and the faa, which was a vicious carnivore. Other species included doo, laa, ray, see, and tee. Many colorful varieties of scalefish lived in Lake Paonga around the city of Otoh Gunga and the depths of the Naboo Abyss. Scalefish were eaten by colo claw fish, opee sea killers, humans, and Gungans.
Scalefish first appeared in the 1999 film , the first installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. They were first identified by the 2015 reference book Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know.
The names of the scalefish appear to reference the real-world musical scale as expressed in solfège: do, re, me, fa, sol, la, ti.
