Sally Hawkins

Sally Hawkins (born April 27, 1976, in Dulwich, London, United Kingdom) is a British actress who appeared as an uncredited extra in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, playing a spectator watching the marching Gungans during the celebration of the end of the Invasion of Naboo. Hawkins was attending drama school at the time and got the job via a friend who was working on the film. She wore a chiffon costume for the part and was digitally replicated several times, receiving 100 British pounds in payment.

Hawkins later rose to prominence with the 2008 film Happy-Go-Lucky. In a 2013 interview, Hawkins stated that she was unsure if her Star Wars scene had made the final cut of the film, but in a 2015 appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, her presence in the film was identified, prompting Hawkins to admit that she had still not seen the film.
