The Romary was crewed by Captain Perrili and three others in 34 ABY. It was an older design at that point. She sold fuel to various clients, including the Resistance. After receiving the payment, she would leave the fuel at a predetermined location.
During one delivery, the First Order discovered the sale and captured the freighter first, executing Perrili and the crew. By the time the Resistance's Black Squadron arrived to collect the fuel, the Romarys tanks had been emptied into a First Order tanker and rigged into a bomb.
Black Squadron discovered the trap, and flew the ship to buy time before it blew. They were able to catch up to the First Order strike force, leaving Jessika Pava's astromech droid Kaythree to fly the Romary. Black Squadron forced them to leave the fuel behind. The Romary then blew up, having triggered the bomb.
