Rings of Hudalla

Rings of Hudalla were a type of onion ring consisting of onion wrapped in pink puffer pig bacon coated in a mixture of sugar and spice that caramelized as the dish was baked. The rings were named for the gas giant Hudalla, which was orbited by some of the largest rings in the galaxy.

In 34 ABY, the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs included a recipe for Rings of Hudalla in his cookbook The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. In the book, he suggested they could be served alongside a sandwich and were superior to regular breaded onion rings.

Rings of Hudalla were created as a recipe for the real-life cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which was written by Marc Sumerak and Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. Prior to the book's release on November 5, 2019, the recipe for the rings was released as part of a preview on StarWars.com on August 23.

The out-of-universe recipe requires two large yellow onions that have been peeled and cut into discs, two tablespoons of hot sauce, a cup of brown sugar, half a teaspoon of garam masala, and a pound of sliced bacon.
