Ria

Ria was a female general in the Rebel Alliance, and was a member of Operation Fracture Oversight in 0 BBY. After Chancellor Mon Mothma echoed reports of suspicious activity near the moon Jedha, Ria was skeptical of a fishing attempt from the Galactic Empire. In 5 ABY, the general led a campaign against an Imperial-Royalist coalition at the astronomical object Xagobah. She told the rest of the New Republic military leadership about the campaigns progress over two meetings via hologram and participated in a third where the leadership planned an attack on the Empire's forces at the planet Jakku.

Operation oversight

Ria was a female general who served in the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance and the Galactic Empire. In 0 BBY, she was a member of Operation Fracture Oversight which was made up of eight of the leading members of Operation Fracture, a mission conducted by the Alliance to extract the Imperial scientist Galen Erso and have him testify to the Imperial Senate about a rumored Imperial planet killer. In a report to Operation Fracture Oversight, Alliance Chancellor Mon Mothma reported that one of her contacts in the Imperial Senate had informed her that Imperial forces were evacuating the moon Jedha and that a there was a rumored energy burst in the moons orbit.

Mothma asked the members of the Oversight if they had any new information on Operation Fracture. Ria replied that they did not and asked if Mothma had told the contact about the rumors of a planet killer, speculating that it could be an fishing attempt by the Empire to judge the reaction to a false story. In reality, Jedha had been devastated by the rumored superweapon, the battle station Death Star. Alliance forces soon seized plans for the planet killer before taking advantage of a weakness in the Death Star and destroying the battle station.

Fall of the Empire

After suffering a major defeat and loss of leadership in 4 ABY, the Empire splintered into remnants, heavily challenged by the Alliance, which had since become the growing New Republic. By 5 ABY, eleven months later, Ria began a campaign to drive an Imperial-Royalist coalition off of the astronomical object Xagobah. Around the same time she attended a meeting with the leadership of the New Republic military. Appearing exhausted, she spoke via hologram with the rest of the leadership about her campaign.

As the Xagobah campaign continued, there was a turn in events that Ria found dark. When later returning for another meeting with the New Republic military leadership, the general summarized the dark turn to the other meeting attendees while assuring them that the campaigns end was near. The leadership soon gathered again to plan an attack on the Empire's amassing loyalist forces, which had been located at the desert planet Jakku. During the meeting, Ria questioned how long the Empire had been based at Jakku to gain a perspective on how entrenched their forces may be. Chief of Intelligence Airen Cracken answered that estimates suggested three to six months while reports on the Empire's fleet strength were yet to arrive.
