Rescue droids were a type of droid utilized in rescue scenarios. The pill droid was a model of rescue droid that was utilized by the Galactic Republic during the High Republic Era. Pill droids saw use in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace Disaster, during both the initial rescue effort in the Hetzal system and the events that followed.
After the Great Assembly of Serenno collapsed on the Jedi Padawan Dooku and Lady Jenza of Serenno as a result of a groundquake caused by the Tirra'Taka, several hovering rescue droids were sent to locate them.
