A treaty existed between the Galactic Republic and the planet Mandalore, signed at least one hundred years before the Siege of Mandalore in 19 BBY. The treaty prohibited the Republic from invading Mandalore, and both Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Prime Minister Almec noted that the invasion assisted by forces of the Grand Army of the Republic led by Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, Ahsoka Tano, and Clone Commander Rex to overthrow the renegade Sith Lord Maul was a violation of the treaty, although Kryze did not care.
