After the NOVA project was disabled by Rebel infiltrators on the planet Lianna, the Reliant—along with the Audacious—pursued the modified YT-1300 light freighter Star of the Tion in an attempt to cut off the Rebel's escape to hyperspace.
Hindered by the congestion of space traffic around the planet Lianna, the Audacious tried to herd the Rebels toward the waiting Reliant, nearly ensnaring the freighter between them. However, the Audacious was unsuccessful in driving the Star of the Tion toward the Reliant and both corvettes pulled back to let a waiting Victory II-class Star Destroyer on sector patrol—the Warlord—make an attempt to stop the Rebels.
