The Reliance was a Star Destroyer serving in the Imperial Navy. While under the command of the Imperial warlord Captain Iolan Gendarr, the vessel carried Scimitar assault bombers along with a mixed force of All Terrain Armored Transports and All Terrain Scout Transports that had been specially modified by General Arndall Lott's engineers to be controlled by remote operators.
During the Galactic Civil War, the Reliance was commanded by Iolan Gendarr after his promotion to the rank of captain following the Battle of Hoth. The Star Destroyer was assigned to protect the Imperial Army center on the planet Jardeen IV. In the wake of the Battle of Endor and the death of Emperor Palpatine, Iolan Gendarr went rogue alongside General Arndall Lott, commander of Jardeen IV's Walker Operations and Tactics, They evacuated the planet, forming their own warlord faction. The Reliance was utilized to attack both New Republic and civilian bases to secure equipment and supplies. During the raids, Scimitar assault bombers were used in conjunction with the slave-rigged walkers.
