Rekara

Biography

Rekara served as the retainer to Alliance to Restore the Republic dignitary Mors Odrion. The pair worked at recruiting and securing supplies for the growing Rebellion. While carrying out their duties, Rekara and Odrion began to hear rumors of a newly discovered strange waterworld and the new Imperial garrison that had been established on it. Investigating further, Odrion decided to get more directly involved in the war effort; along with Rekara, he set course for the planet Sedri.

Despite the warnings from the starship's navigation computer, Rekara and Odrion arrive safely at Sedri. The planet glowed with seemingly golden seas. Rekara and Odrion went in search of the source of the glow, hiding their vessel in a rocky cove. The source of the glow faded, and Rekara and Odrion were captured by a group of Sedrians, the world's native sentient species.

The leader of the renegades, Karak, used a piece of coral to steal information from Odrion's mind, including information on the Rebellion, the Empire, and Odrion's mission to Sedri. While Odrion was kept under constant guard during his incarceration, Rekara was left alone in a locked chamber. She managed to escape when there were no guards present. Knowing that she could not save Odrion, Rekara instead stole the piece of coral that had been used to take information from his mind. Fleeing to their hidden ship, Rekara was unaware that her actions with the coral had caused it to die; the cry of the coral echoed deep into the Mon Calamari's mind, causing Rekara to go insane. Despite this, Rekara was still able to launch the ship and set course for the Alliance's Delta Base.

Arriving at the Alliance base, Rekara stumbled out of the ship, half-crazed and raving about the Golden Sun. A rescue and investigatory mission was put together, undertaken by a group of Alliance agents. Rekara, slowly recovering from the effects of the dying coral and only occasionally lucid, was placed on the mission at the request of Alliance High Command who believed that she would be valuable to the mission. Once on Sedri, Rekara's behavior became less and less crazed, culminating in her eventually returning the piece of coral to the sun caves below Fitsay. Along with the Sedrians Pek and Fala, Rekara helped one of the Alliance team, who had been chosen as the Golden Sun's champion, to defeat Karak and release the Golden Sun from its confinement.

Personality and traits

Rekara possessed a youthful and daring adventurous spirit. She had a sharp and quick mind, but her encounter with the Golden Sun coral left her muddled and crazed.
